Fabulous Beaches for Everyone

Family Fun
Englewood Beach is a half mile of sand offering beautiful gulf views as the backdrop to many activities including picnic areas, sand volleyball, basketball hoops, horseshoe pit and a play area for children. You can meander along a boardwalk or just enjoy the views from a beach pavilion. For your convenience, there are showers and restrooms.

Active Options
Across the Peace river from Punta Gorda you'll find the small Port Charlotte Beach Park peninsula jutting out into the waters of the Alligator Bay. Along with sunning yourself on the white sands, there's a plethora of activities such as tennis, volleyball courts, basketball hoops, horseshoes, swimming pool, bocce ball, pickleball, a playground for the kids and a dog park for your fur family. Boat ramps provide easy access for boaters and kayakers to the river. Bring your lunch and relax at the free picnic areas.

Nature and History
The sands of Gasparilla Island State Park stretch for 2 miles and offer beautiful views of the blue Gulf waters. The park is home to many migratory birds, including some rare species, with nature trails and exhibits available. The island is an great place to learn about and experience Florida's abundant wildlife. More active activities include bike trails, collecting shells on the beach and snorkeling in the Gulf. A highlight of your visit could be a tour of the Gasparilla Island Lighthouse which is a local gem built in 1881.

Secluded Sun
Looking for a little seclusion? Check out Don Pedro Island State Park. The mangrove forests and white sand dunes are only accessible by boat or ferry to preserve their natural beauty. With over 200 acres, the park is immense and the beach is a mile of sand on the Gulf side of the island, perfect for shell collecting. Bird watchers will relish the endangered avian species such as bald eagles that inhabit the park.
